Arlington's Dollars For Scholars Program
Application Information

Any college student who is a current resident of the Town of Arlington can apply for a scholarship grant that is funded by the taxpayers of the Town, through Arlington's Dollars For Scholars Program, with contributions made by means of a tax checkoff box on Arlington's municipal tax and utility bills.

How To Apply

You can obtain a scholarship application packet in the following ways:

  • Download the full set of application forms as an Adobe PDF file for printing. The full set is an approximately 500 KB download. This is the preferred way to download the application, as it contains all necessary documents.
  • Download each document in the application set. This download is best for a dialup connection. Please be sure to download all documents in the set.
  • Ask in person at the Town Treasurer's Department, first floor of the Town Hall.
  • Call (781)316-3031 during business hours.
  • Inquire at the guidance departments of Arlington High School, Arlington Catholic High School, or Minuteman Regional High School.
If you don't have a copy of Acrobat Reader, you can download a copy by clicking the icon to the right.

    Filing Deadline

Completed applications are due at the Town Treasurer's Department on March 1, or the first school day thereafter if March 1 falls on a Saturday, Sunday or non-school day.

    Eligibility Requirements

The student must be a legal resident of the Town of Arlington. They must be presently attending, or have received acceptance to attend, an accredited educational institution beyond high school level prior to the time for payment of scholarship award.

A personal interview is required before financial aid is awarded.

Supporting documents must be submitted if requested by the Scholarship Committee.

    Tax Exemption

As a result of Arlington's affiliation with Citizens' Scholarship Foundation of America, Inc. (CSFA) and New England Dollars For Scholars, the town's tax checkoff program qualifies as a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) charitable organization. Therefore, the full amount of all contributions made to the tax checkoff program are deductible as a charitable contribution.
